Nostalgia

Laying alone in this field of green lush, Coated in darkness I look to the sky... Countless amounts of pixie dust brushed over this black canvas, And a sliver of white is gleaming. So silent... And yet the thoughts begin to scream. Every word, sentiment, and regret- The loudest sound in my head is of you. As the chill of night comes over me, I feel myself slowly beginning to drift, My eyelids unwillingly weld themselves shut... And then I notice I am not alone. Pressed closely against your warm chest, Your heartbeat madly racing with my own, I find myself entranced by your tantalizing gaze, Here is where I feel at home. A shortness of breath stirs me, The reassuring pair of arms that once held me so tightly have vanished, And suddenly a trickle of water begins to run down my face... Even this little pain is dear to me.
