Nostalgia

If I had to give it all up

With only one exception

My memories would surely be

The thing that I would mention

While money and objects

Are truly quite nice

To lose my best moments would be

The ultimate price

For without those memories

I'd have no way to know

My potential to be happy

I wouldn't have hope

I would be unable to

Close my eyes and escape

To a special happiness

With no tangible shape

I'd forget all the wonderful

Lessons I'd learned

My book would be blank

If through past pages I turned

So go on take my phone or

My bed or my car keys

Just don't take away

My precious memories
