Nostalgia

Location

Goodbye my friend it seems like only yesterday when

we met and I remember those nights we spent connecting

all the dots in the sky and how there were just too many

that we kept going until the night changed from indigo to navy

to ebony and then we were forced to say toodloo until the next night.

But I never imagined that there soon would be no

next night until I saw you and me being carried away by

the same thing that carried night into day. Time.

And now I’m running to connect all the dots back

to the moments spent with you but I’m out of breath

and my head is spinning in a million little circles and then

my feet get all tied up but it’s like time keeps working against me and

I’m getting further away from you until you’re just a little speck

in my line of vision and then you seem to disappear beyond the horizon until I suddenly remember and everything comes flooding back to me.
