NOSTALGIA
Between all the things I'll never know;
And things I know I should let go.
Are the moments I let slip away;
And words I didn't think to say.
Can I express without crossing a line;
How I miss a friend that once was mine.
Down different paths our lives have led;
Yet life's too short for things unsaid.
I realize now what I didn't then;
That some we'll carry to the end.
Friends perhaps from long ago;
So dear to us, but may not know.
So I hope this finds you in good health;
I wish you happiness beyond all wealth.
I'm proud of what's become of you . . .
And still in awe of the friend I knew.
