Nostalgic Nights

The memories of us all came flooding back.

I keep looking at the sky

wiping away the endless amount of tears that keep sprouting in my eyes.

The microwave rice krispies, we baked in your room.

I can still hear the country music we used to blast, its blaring in my ears.

Taunting me.

The images of paper all over your floor from our sketching competitions.

Our conversations of what the future had in store for us,

Our hopes and dreams all sprawled out on the walls upon your room.

The tender sweet moments, all locked away in the back of my mind.

Grape flavored gatorade, had brought me back to those nights of instant bliss

all of our 3 am giggles

the stupid jokes we told

all came back like a swift kick in the gut.

I don't know why, but these nostalgic memories made me feel kinda uneasy.

I guess the thought that our story has come to an end, it just tears me down.

I want to hate you,

hurt you the same way you hurt me,

break you down just as fast as I feel for you.

The things I did just so It  would never end.

If I had the chance to go back and relive those bitter-sweet moments, I’d take it only because I never ever expected that would be the last of it.

The last hug goodbye,

The last hello,

Who knew that would be the last time we ever got to play together.

The last i love you, only for it to mean nothing in the end.

Oh all these nostalgic nights.

I can’t seem to get any sleep.

These memories can’t let me be.

The tattoo sessions we had, up on the top bunk of my bed.

The art supplies making my room look like a tornado had just crashed and created a disaster from every angle.

Liv and Maddie playing in the background.

The gossip we used to spill on the top bunk of that bed.

We used to laugh until the sun came to rise and light up the sky.

Oh the things I did to keep it going for ever and then for it all to mean nothing in the end.

What a shame.

I know you may have forgotten all of these sleepless nights,

But please never forget how much you meant to me.

I really need to stop reminiscing on those blissful nights.

All of the tired days, filled with inappropriate giggles.

What I'd give to have my innocent mind, heart filled with nothing but pure joy of that beautiful world.

oh these nostalgic nights.
