Nostalgic winter in kashmir
........ Nostalgic winter.....
I want to return to the days,
When sparrows had their nests.
Under those old thatched roofs.
When icicles hung in winters,
Some as glasses some glassy brown,
When with my friends i hunt in vain,
All day long enjoying in shivering cold.
Anchaar, the pickles we enjoy at attic,
That used be in red many pitchers.
The cold KANGRI under the FARAN,
Blowing the dying embers every minute,
Was peace, contentment, joy and what not.
Winter tution, the glorious time my friends,
Throwing snowballs at each other then,
Ah! What a joy they brought to us dears.
Ah! That snow hill besides my home,
Sledding day long untill they rebuked,
Half wet, fully exhausted then those slaps,
Diner at dusk, dowsing, the sound sleep.
Ah! That was life full of vigor and beauty,
Sans tension, sans jealousy sans avarice,
............... AFTAB TARIQ..........
