This is not about Love

You don’t hear the words that I say

When I speak

All you hear

is what you seek

You don’t mind what thoughts I think

Unless it is

A thought

your ego can drink

You say you love me

I know its true

But not the way

I’ve always wanted someone too

The silence and the solace

is something we can overcome

The crying and the screaming

is something we can mark undone

For the moment when we come together again

all the rest was just pretend

But when I’m alone

I don’t feel alright

When I’m alone

I don’t want be held so tight

Those are the moments

I realize something is not quite right.

Because you love me…

I shouldn’t talk to any other men

Even if they happen to be

my oldest friend

Like you own my hand and you’d not care to lend.

Because you love me…

I need to call you once an hour

everyday

No matter if I’m at work, or school, or watching a live play

Its only way you can be sure that I will always stay.

Because you love me…

I should give up my dreams

Even if that means

my heart will burst at the seams

Now I’m beginning to notice a theme

Because you love me…

You think I should be less me

You long to tie me up

I long to break free

This is not the way love should be.
