Not Alone

Poetry isnt something that just came to me
It was boring
I hated it

What's the point of reading "Roses are red...",
in a hundred different interpretations.

But I came to poetry
Forcefully at first - freshman english was hard
But I came at last

I found "me" in poetry
Not the deep, self revelating me
The common me
The related me
Others were me, mentally
Others share my mind it seems

It seems that my unique life isn't so unique
How could I help but enjoy seeing how other "me"s feel
