Not Always up to Me

You say this poetry slam is all up to me

In my life it's not

Not every detail, not every thing

I come from past that I let define me

A haunting one

A terrible one

A happy one

None of it was up to me

Nothing that happened was up to me like the world claims

Not my parents spilt, or the moving of house to house

Haven't stayed a place longer than a year and a half

All of this..... not up to me

Not like you claim

Not always up to me
