Not Damaged, Not Broken

Joys not my first name,

but hurt is my middle.

Pain my last,

The struggle of not being affected by my past (my first name).

Am I stronger?

Some might say yes.

Am I wiser?

I try,

Every once in a while I'm defeated with a cry.

I whisper for help because yelling causes a choke.

Just wanting you to know,

Without words.

I need you to understand.

I'm not damaged,

Whoever you are ,

I'm not fine, but I'm not broken.

I'm just trying to put the pieces together.

Stick around because I'm worth it.

Disey Dise

HI, My name is Ladise. I was born in Queens, NY. I have been writing since I was little. I have always had a love for English Literature and Poetry. My favorite poets are Maya Angelou and Edgar Alan Poe. Two very different poets that I love for two very different reasons. I am a person who has always found it hard to express myself, so poetry is how I do that. I love feedback and I take criticism very well. So please feel free to leave comments. Thank you and God bless.
