Not Enough

Is who I am not enough to quench your uncontrollable thirst?

Your want of such perfections can only be fulfilled in colorful dreams.

To compare my own being to that of outsiders,

is that not unjust and unfair?

You’ve seen but only the flesh and not of the heart.

Is my being a burden to you,

the chains to your freedom,

another mouth to feed?

My heart rejects the dark overflow of your heart,

choosing to abide in greater emotions with power.

I have wronged you indeed.

Why not revile in disgust at morning’s first light,

but regret at evening’s midnight?

I am of flesh and of blood,

but imperfections were too great a burden.

One’s heart was not enough to satisfy your lust.
