Not enough

I think I'm not good enough for anyone to love me

I'm really not that funny and most people think I'm ugly

I'm so sorry I'm not enough, and I cry because I'm not that tough

But I hope soon I'll be able to find real love

If not, I think it'll be time to just give up

I try to speak up but nobody hears

No one can save me from this pool of tears

My parents say to save yourself, I guess I'm gonna drown

They always look down on my with a disapproving frown

Acting like royalty but I don't see no crown

They used to call me smart and call me bright and gifted

All the compliments made my self- esteem 10x lifted

I took pride in being faster and reading better than all the other kids did

Cause when I was timed and tested I could prove I couldn't be bested

Now I'm no longer smarter or brighter or gifted

All my brilliance and skills have drifted

I need that validation and admiration, I'm addicted

I'm all messed up my thoughts are twisted but I'm already commited

Everyone knew I could

If only they really understood

Everything I've withstood

I know I should but I'm just not that good
