Not Every Happy Ending is So Happy

  • Together forever
That’s what they said.

Were they to blind to see,

That they were never meant to be.

All was going great, until that grave mistake.

Now we scream, “why did they partake?”

In such a grave mistake.

They aren’t alone in the lack of sight they hold

Mom and pop,

Well that was for sure a flop.

Everyone knew, but they kept their mouths shut.

If only someone said they were not the completion to the other ones puzzle.

The two blondes at school.

She was his queen.

He was her not meant to be.

Now he leaves the group, with a goodbye to only me.

The boy crumbling in place.

The girl from outer space.

They shot for the stars, but rubble did not send them off to a Star crosses lovers place.

To the ground they went, another high school relationship statistic they did make.

Now I look around me

In fear of anything more than a friendship

Cowering from closer proximities

One after another, relationships crumble.

Will love come to pass?

Will I find a romance?

Nay, perhaps not, at least I put off the possible troubles for another day.
