Not exactly picture perfect
Picture this, a white picket fence guarding a manicured lawn.
The fact is, it's a rusted chain-linked fence bordering dead brittle grass.
Picture this, a house of beautifully crafted stones with ten to fifteen windows.
The fact is, it’s a rundown home made of drywall and let's not forget the broken windows.
Picture this, there's a happy family living inside.
The fact is, no one rarely stays the night.
Picture this, a couple in love since a decade ago.
The fact is, I think that love died a couple years or so.
Picture this, money doesn’t overrule our hearts and minds.
The fact is, money owns everything in sight.
Picture this, happy endings do exist.
The fact is, I think I've only seen it on televisions.
Picture this, world peace is just within reach.
The fact is, world destruction is closer than we think.
And for all the picture perfect things that we dream of every night.
The fact is, only some of those ever see the light.
