Not a Feeling

I am the rain.

The puddles to step on, the wet hair of those passing by

The surrounding world blurs my vision,

I slam into the solid concrete with each drop.

Then you call me with a smile, vowing to help me

You are the sun.

You love me.

I am a flame.

The flicker of a candle, the warmth of a fireplace

The surrounding world is mine for the taking,

I burn with an eternal passion with each passing minute

And you light me again when my fire goes out

You are my friend.

You respect me.
