Not a Happy Child

The tire rotates
And the world is
spinning
And you are falling
Running Laughing
Playing Pretend
Helpless Child
Your mood swings
like a detached
pendulum
About to fall again
Stuck in the sand
Stuck in the air
Fall back to the
ground
Get back up and
show off your
bruises and the
blood to your
mother
And to the
teacher
And to the
other children
who ignoore you
You climb as
high as you can
because you
don't care if
you fall
Swing higher
little Monster
Flip over the bar
SCREAM
so they know
who you are
Your Colors
are fading
Sweet child
you no longer
shine.
