Not Herself
Other people tell her to be herself,
But why do they have to judge her,
Why do they have to tell her how
bad, happy, sad, popular, emo, goth she is,
Why do they have to judge on her looks and weight,
The way she dress and speak,
Even worse they don’t see those tears hiding behind that smile,
Even worse is that once she gets home
It’s still the same over there,
Her parents would judge on how she dress, eat, sleep, and who she hangs out with,
Even worse she keeps it in, Even worse she wouldn’t tell anyone about it,
She tried to talk about it, but she gets scared,
What if she tells and they leave her there,
Leave her in her cage, bounded by her darkness,
Oh why don’t they see, see the sadness in her, the sadness and the loneliness she goes through everyday,
The loneliness that tortures her,
The loneliness that they don’t see,
All her life she taught herself to keep it in,
To be happy, to be what other people want her to be,
To be not herself,
But one day when life seem helpless a light shed on her,
A light she will never forget,
And since that day she forgets and ignore the judgers,
Since that they she found those who let her be,
Let her to be herself,
Because they know that being true to yourself is the prettiest thing in life,
Because of this she is herself and she is never going to be not herself.
