Not Interested in Love

I know love is for puppy, kitty, sister, brother, mother, father, family, and friends,

I know love is for small things, large things, thoughtful things, pretty and expensive things,

I know love is for the fake, the real, the forgotten, the longingly remembered,

I know love is a feeling most things are capable of having.

I know love is not for things deserted, lost, taken, kept, malicious, evil, wicked, corrupt, immoral, depraved, ruthless, merciless, cruel, shameless, unhealthy, damaging, dangerous, harmful, regretful, ashamed, guilty, sad, severe, grave, critical, awful, terrible, dreadful, appalling, shocking, ghastly, horrific, etc., etc., etc.,

But I found that these things are loved too in their own way,

So why say it over and over and over and over and over,

I am told its to share, not to share everything but only that one thing,

So many issues I’m told it can cause, but so many problems it can resolve,

But I don’t want it right now.

I don’t want the love that can kill,

The type that feels like needles in the tummy,

The type you can’t escape from,

The type that traps and tortures its victims,

The short lived,

The never coming back again,

The type that drags other loves away,

I don’t care about my next love, my next break-up, my next plan,

I don’t care about the drama, the chaos, the possibility,

Love is a word that I like to use when it’s something I know is worth it,

something I think deserves that much,

and someone who, in lack of better words, “fits in with my foolish peace”

No drama, no pointless chase,

Until then….well I’ll just stick with the loves I have, they are enough for now.
