Not Like It Used to Be

The world seems so far away,

People lost in a flurry of change,

Keeping all morals at bay,

And I, I appear to be strange.

The world just keeps falling,

People can’t see past their mind,

The old youth find it appalling,

And I, I appear to be blind.

The world is too far departed,

People aren’t worthy of the fight.

Hope is only for the bighearted,

And I, I hanker for the light.

The brightest light of our past,

Will never reach tomorrow,

This thought above all surpassed,

Brings me true and honest sorrow.
