Not Just About the Music
The sound of the keys playing
The good notes and the bad
Was nothing compared
To the bond we had
I walked in scared, shaking
Thinking the worst
But you pushed that away
Made me feel like I came first
If my hands looked tense
Or you sensed a lack of passion
You would stop me right then
And ask me what had happened
You were not just a teacher
You were a best friend to me
You pushed me and cared so much
We became thick as thieves
My love of music grew
The closer that we got
When I felt lost and low
You remind me of what I forgot
I'll never forget the day you left
"I've found something better"
You wanted me to continue
But I knew I could never
Not without your guidance
Your jokes and your rules
Not without your patience
Your wise words and tools
I will always remember our fun
I miss you every day
I will always remember and think about you
When I sit to play
