Not Just A Heart

Dear Heart,

I thought you were just supposed to be an organ!

Pumping blood through my body,

Keeping me alive.

Who allowed you to take control?

Did I tell you that you could ache?

That you could hurt?

Or if you could love?

I hear you screaming,

I feel you pounding against my chest,

I want to help,

But how?!

You make me the happiest,

When you fill me with love.

You make me the saddest,

When you break.

So…

Thank you for the joy,

And screw you for the pain,

But…

I will always trust you,

Always follow you

Because…

You are Me!

-You
