Not just a kid

Walking into high school was so blurred. I didn't know what was going through my mind. Until that second, that thought, that feeling occurred. How could I be so mentally blind? All of a sudden I felt a rush of authority & freedom. I was standing next to the people I used to look up to and be proud to stand behind, And the jackasses I despised all intertwined. I was not a child that didn't understand life and only hid. That moment I realized I would never again be just a kid.
