Not a Love Letter

Just when I didn’t think I could love again

You burst into my life

Perfect skin, Dark Luscious curls, and eyes i continuously get lost in

Your looks may be dashing

But it wasn’t until you spoke that the fences guarding my heart came crashing.

Just when I didn’t think I could love again

You opened up my eyes

and redirected my mind

Brought vibrant color to my skies

Ironic, because you’re actually color blind

All jokes aside

Each day you made it harder to hide

the things you make me feel

Who knew you were a thief and I was the next heart you’d steal?

Just when I didn’t think I could love again

You made me smile

It had become something I hadn’t done in a while

But like the CIAs top spy you infiltrated my mind and convinced me to unwind

Originally you weren’t welcomed inside

But as time went by it was up for me to decide

Whether to be honest with myself

or keep fighting this never ending fight

Just when I didn’t think I could love again

And I know this sounds cheesy

But bare with me when I say this

You made it so easy

With your comfort, patience, and friendship alone

It was hard for me to avoid that I’d eventually feel drawn

to who you are and strive to be

And I can’t thank the good Lord enough that you ended up with me
