Not Me. Not You.

I feel the dark, cold clutch of doubt on the nape of my neck.
Who, I ask, is mighty enough to claim my worth?
Not me.
Not you.

When I cannot differentiate true and false, real and not.
Who, I ask, wil tell me when trust has fallen so far from tangible grasp?
Not me.
Not you.

I hear the slight whispers of deception, telling lie after lie.
Who, I ask, knows if these lies are lies and not untrusted truths?
Not me.
Not you.

I sit with bewildered heart and cold eyes.
Who, I ask, will speak truth and even then, how would I know?
Not me.
Not you.

I see the throne of which you have thrown yourself upon.
Who, I ask, will prove how mighty you are not and overthrow the throne you have thrown yourself upon?
Not me.
Not you.

I have shut my mouth time and time again to preserve what could be called "friendship".
Who, I ask, has ignored said friendship and been so self-absorbed in the years you have claimed friendship?
Not me.
YOU.

I have tried time and time again to believe everything was okay.
Who, I ask, has proved me wrong every time?
Not me.
YOU.

I have watched you turn sour over bitter milk, but still you drank, growing sourer.
Who, I ask, changed who they were for reasons of self-proclaimed love?
Not me.
YOU.

I have grown sick of feeling insignificant to your insignificant problems.
Who, I ask, has the real problems here?
Not me.
YOU.

I have suffere the undermining of you for far too long; as if I have no importance.
Who, I ask, is finished with this false accusation of a good friend?
Not you.
ME.
