This is not Normal
Writing frees.
Frees my hand from immobility
Frees my mind from panic and stillness
Frees my heart from it’s frozen cage
Frees my emotions in a healthy way
Healthier than my regular pattern of self-destruction.
Writing changes.
Changes my body into a state of calmness
Changes my mindset into one of progress
Progress because if I can move past from the incident I just wrote about, I
Can move past anything.
Writing changes my heart into being more willing to open up.
Being more willing to soften.
Melt the bars of the self-inflicted, frozen cage
Writing changes my emotions
Changes the way I am literally able to feel.
Changes the hormones running through my body so that I can appear to function as a normal human.
But am I really normal?
I write.
For fun.
In my spare time.
And not just any writing -
I write poetry.
For fun.
In my spare time.
Writing changes.
Writing frees
Writing heals.
Heals all the broken scars;
Throws away all the broken knives -
I almost died from.
