Not One of the Greats

They say the greats could draw inspiration from a breeze,

But every time they say that I just want to sneeze.

You see I find inspiration in a more obvious place,

This does not make the greats lose face,

It just means I have to make haste,

For my inspiration is not in the same taste.

My meaning and motivation comes from the familiar that always changes,

And this catalyst comes from many ranges,

But it won’t last as it always ages.

People are my encouragement and desire,

They always know how to light the fire that burns brighter

Inside each and every one of us, we make each other lighter.

As swords sharpen swords, and steel sharpens steel,

We need to be there to help each other become their ideal self,

Otherwise we might as well just all sit on a shelf.
