Not A Real Man
One meal a day,
Is all I ever ate,
It sucked coming home to nothing in the frig,
A bottle of water and meat that been sitting 'for real',
Get in trouble if I asked to eat,
All the words I ever got was,
"Boy do you see anything to eat,
We are black poor people,
If you want to eat you better get a job."
A job at age 16,
Living in America more like Africa,
Poor and hungry I sit and wonder,
Is this all I'll ever be,
No Imma be a MAN,
Something my father never was to me,
Maybe I should drop out and help my moms with the food,
Plus I'm sick of hearing my sister crying about how hungry they be,
It time I be a MAN,
Go get this paper,
Dropped out last week going to make this money,
Haha now we can eat,
Moms not complaining,
Sister not crying,
I am a MAN,
But wait this isn't the man I planned to be.
