Not Religious

And sometimes I think I believe in god

Because the stars in the sky, luminous spheres of plasma

held together by their own gravity-

that supposedly died long before mankind was a thought

but still shine from billions of miles away despite their pre-life demise,

have somehow disintegrated and reappeared in the darkness of your irises,

the intensity,

power of gravity,

and the speed of light at 299, 792, 458 meters per second,

infinitely faster than the speed of sound betrays my lips when they part slightly,

perked up at the sides,

forming that three syllable sentence that binds hearts together,

and millions of seconds before the vibrations in my throat get realized,

hanging like a sleepless eyelid,

You smile, knowing what was to be said, my lips betrayed by my eyes

And sometimes I think I believe in god

Because the mind, formed months before your feet can catch up,

capable of creating beauty so breath taking,

beyond anything imaginable, more elaborate than Michael's Chapel,

greater than the Roman Empire, creator of all things religion

Over 90% of our minds aren't accessible to us yet,

but I know somehow that you've found your way into every lobe,

Burned into the occipital,

your smile more mentally stimulating than any sudoku puzzle,

Your voice sings to the frontal,

the reason for any positive reaction my being has to you

You've caressed me with your words,

Your words

And that Victoria's Secret love spell engulf my temporal lobe,

penetrating it, putting me at your knees

Begging just to copulate with your mind and give birth to newborn thoughts,

nurtured with the curiosities in life and everyday experiences-

And unconsciously on purpose my parietal lobe

captures your features like a Polaroid,

reminding me why you rid my lungs of the knowledge

of their natural function and leave me breathless

just with your memory

Memories of how the youthful pink of the sunset matches the pink of your lips

And the way your hips sway like dancing palm trees above your caramel thighs...

And if god does exist I know somehow he created you in his image

Sometimes I believe in god

Because here I was

Made of the strongest steel, but crumpled like aluminum foil at the edges,

Falling apart, drowning inside my own head, like an artist without a pencil-

Until you came a long,

Small in stature but tougher than a boxer's teeth,

Smiling your way into my thoughts and sneaking your way into the my left ventricle,

Eventually becoming the lub dub that connected my parts and kept them functioning-

And sometimes I believe in god

If man can discover supernova's and stop asteroids

Replace hearts and operate on minds

It's possible that He orchestrated it all and found time to give me you-

And you're perfect,

So if there is a god, Amen.
