But Not In The Same Room (It's A Pity)

Is it strange that I know

the soft crook of your neck?

I know we’ve barely

Breathed together.

Is it strange that there are three of you?

Though I know we barely

breathe together

I can see the touch of other

Real Women.

and I do not know the map of

Anyone’s tongue (good).

Right?

Or left?

The soft smell is right

But the stiff hand is left

alone…

Either because you

couldn’t hear me

or because you

couldn’t bear me.

Leoma

Lucy writes for herself because she is a selfish poet, but she sometimes stretches a bit and includes others, too. She is a senior in highschool in Chico, California, has won poetry contests in the local newspaper multiple times, and has had her poetry published in her school's poetry anthology multiple times. She hopes to use her poetry to inspire other selfish poets and keep herself sane.
