Not so Faraway

Over a thousand miles away,

it's never sounded so distant.

Separation is only apparent

when I miss you.

When my days seem gray,

you are always there to sweep them away.

Your unending presence

makes it hard to believe

over a thousand miles is in between.

You say "I saved you",

But is that really true?

You mean the world to me

and I to you.

You are my friend.

My best friend.

A life without you,

should not be something to comprehend.

So let's remind ourselves today,

as long as we're friends

 we're not so faraway...
