Not So Pocket Sized Poetry
I feel your hurt
I feel your joy
I feel your anger
I feel your sarcastic laughter
hidden behind the pain of your jokes of your own trauma
I feel your love
I feel your wanting
to be loved
I feel your beautiful words
in which they flow from your heart fluttering into the pen and somehow ends up on paper
Never truly written in ink but
Written in tears
Or in blood
Or in sacrifice
Or in the pain in your chest
even when you are not physically hurt
I feel your anxiety
I feel your cries for help through those beautiful words
I feel it all
Feeling like broken glass that just needs to be put back together again
I wish I could be the one that puts you back together again
I wish I could put you in my pocket
And show you the love of the world through these lenses
I wish I could pull the stars from the sky and give it to you
I would say to use it as a night light for those nights that you can’t sleep
I wish I could make the sun always shine on you
You would never have a rainy day
I wish I could place the moon by your window
so you’ll never be alone
I wish I could carry you in all your brokenness and glory in my pocket
I wish I could wipe away your tears
I wish I could show you how to love without depending on anyone else
I wish I could show you the beauty that lies within those ugly days
I wish I could show you how to be happy without depending on substances
I wish I could show you that this scars do not define you
I wish I could carry you in my pocket
But until I figure out how to do that
I pray that you will be able to feel loved without depending on someone else
I pray that you will be able to stop living for other people as a reason to live and find reasons to start living for yourself
I pray that you stop obsessing over the scale and the calculations of calories and opinions of other people
I pray that you find peace
I wish I could carry you in my pocket
But you were never pocket sized to being with
Authors note- This is a sign to start writing.....
This is my first poem in a long time. I have been procrastinating and reading other people's work but never creating my own. I would alway make the excuse of "oh i don't have time" or "I don't have a topic to write about" or "what if people don't like it." First off F*CK what anyone else thinks two it doesn't matter what if you dont have anything to write about just write, and three making the excuse of i dont have time is not valid MAKE TIME!
I hope you have an amazing day my love :)
