Not So Softly Spoken
When those soft spoken words left your lips,
they not only hurt my ears,
they hurt my heart.
When those soft spoken woords left your lips,
I knew you meant them,
but not towards me.
When those soft spoken words left your lips,
they weren't very soft spoken,
they were soft enough to graze your lips and leave no scars,
but when they grazed my heart, it hurt.
Those soft spoken words made me believe you loved me when you really only loved how controlling you could be over me,
I ran out of tears to cry,
I ran out of words to speak softly,
Now I just glance at the stars,
Wondering,
Wishing,
Speaking my own very soft words,
grazing my chapped lips,
grazing others hearts softly,
I had love for you.
But your so softly spoken words,
Got Nor Gave Love or Redemption
