Not a Toy
I'm shiny and new.
You want to play.
Look at my gears.
Do a test run.
We play.
You buy me.
I want to be bought.
We go home.
We play.
We laugh.
New day.
New toy.
You bring it home.
Shinier.
Newer.
More laughs.
Occasionally you pick me up.
We remember the fun.
We remember the laughs.
We play.
You put me down.
You lose interest.
You leave.
You play with the other one.
The newer one.
The shinier one.
The pretty one with new gears
and new laughs.
I'm on the shelf.
Collecting dust.
Occasionally you see me.
Occasionally we play.
But there I always end.
Another toy.
Another one on the shelf.
Collecting dust.
