Not in vain

Everywhere I look, I see sadness in the community.

People are barely making it in life, while sharing the love of life.

Paying rent, while only eating pieces of bread, and a glass of kool-aid.

Go to school, the parents say, I will, the child obeys.

Everyday I learn something new, while sharing my thoughts with incredible minds.

Every day I study, so my parents’ effort won’t be in vain.

We still sit at the table where worries restrained.

But the smiles that my parents have, replaces every worry in the end.
