Not Your Average Fairytale
Once upon a time
In a faraway land
Lived a young princess
Too pure for her land
Though her parents loved her deeply
They sent her away
To a dragon-guarded castle
She spent the rest of her days
Until that fateful day
When Prince Charming would arrive
He would save the princess
The dragon would die
They would kiss
And they would wed
And live happily ever after
So the stories have said
But what if the princess
Took fate into her own hands
Befriended the dragon
And conquered her own lands
In each fairytale we hear
The princess is saved
By a knight in shining armor
Who many dangers he braved
But the story they won't tell
Is the one where the princess
Doesn't wait for the knight
She saves herself in the process
