A Note of Inspiration

A vibration fills the air.

Fingers glide over the keys, gently coaxing each note to sing.

The music enters and makes my soul quiver.

Yearn. Strain. Hunger for more.

A melody is woven with each note into the tapestry of a song.

It tells it's story.

As I gaze into the passionate face of the pianist I wonder what will become of my story.

The music forms a flying carpet that takes me up, up, up.

Where am I?

I watch a new scene unfold.

A pianist, a different one, is taking her bows to a standing ovation by faces filled with emotion.

A young girl claps, her face shining with the light of the inspired.

It is then that I realize the pianist is I.

My mind returns to the present as I stand, tears streaming down my cheeks, to applaud the one who revealed his soul in his song.

I tremble with the desire to achieve such greatness.

Soon it will be I who stands on a stage, sharing my gift to inspire and fill the souls of those listening.
