Note to Self

I want to trust you, I don’t wanna cry

But it's taken some years, to build this wall

Not to run in cry in bathroom stall

I tried to get up, don’t get me wrong, but I keep slipping, falling desperately

I called for help, but you ignored them, each time you incline your head more

Your hollow words pierced my heart, the pain grew like a fire from within

My feelings were ablaze, bright as can be

Sadly, you grew numb, the fire died and I took the burn of it all

It’s taken some time to get past the sting

Let me ask you,

Are you afraid of yourself?

You should be

You can do things, no one will believe

I’m trying to hold on to this fake interpretation of myself, this hollow definition of self, but I’m losing my grip

I think I’ll just slip

Darling, listen to my words and remember me, for later I just might not be
