A note to self.

I can feel you.
Tired and upset, fraying at the edges.

I know it won’t last.

This is a time of weakness, a stepping stone between humble beginnings
and avowed omnipotence.

You'll shake off the layers of dust, that clinging, sapping, filth
and finally remember your strength.

I weep for the day you blaze so bright that no one can hold a glance in your direction.
when you stand before the world have a corpse and half a god
and all of life will shudder at your step.

That will be the day.
