A note to sophomore year

This is the year you met her;

The girl who’d become your best friend,

And eventually the girl you’d want to be with until the end.

Those few years ago seemed to fly with a blur,

But you never seemed to take your mind off her.

I can’t blame you, she’s one of a kind with love that can mend

Any and all wounds that you on your own couldn’t tend.

I wish I could’ve told you to realize before the summer was over.

But you’ll eventually get here and that’s all that’s important,

Things could have been better along the way,

But now is your chance to make up for then.

You can’t change the past so don’t let this go dormant,

Because you can make for all of that one day,

Maybe in an Oregonian house across the glen.
