Notebooks

Notebooks are school supplies

To take notes for classes

To write essays for English class

To hold all of your math and chemisty equations

To contain your Spanish vocabulary and grammar rules

However, sixth grade came around

And notebooks weren't just school supplies anymore

They are able to hold so much more

My feelings

My thoughts

My experiences

My dreams

I talked to them every day

How was band today?

What made you laugh?

What made you smile?

Who did you meet today?

What made you sad, mad, upset?

What was your day like?

What was your thought process?

What's on your mind?

I didn't have to keep my thoughts to myself

I thought I was weird, and let's be honest

I know I am weird

But writing down everything I was thinking

Made me feel safe and secure

Yeah, my thoughts are weird

But they're mine

They're part of my life stories

My life is a story

And I want to be able to read it from the beginning to the end.
