"I wish that, one day, I could break free

Of what the world expects from me

It’s hard to know what is truth or lie

I guess I won’t know until I die

But I don’t care what you wish or want

I’m just telling you how it is and not

‘Cause I’ve had friends murdered and some they’ve hung

And I guess it’s true that the good die young

And it feels like I’m living two separate lives

One of them kills and the other survives...

‘Cause once you’re dead, you know you’re gone

I just hope that life keeps carrying on

And I know, babe, that it’s sad but true

But there ain’t no castles in skies so blue

So if you’re still listening, here’s what I say

Just keep on a-living ‘til your dying day"

"I went to her house 'cause she said she was the bomb

She said she just lived alone with herself and her Mom

'Cause things got hard since her Dad hit rock bottom

I remember her saying that the police had came and got 'em

But her whole family's getting by just by the grace of God

Working twelve-hour shifts in her fucked up dead-end job"

"You don't think about your children dying

You know it's true, not ever

But then you take for granted them living

'Til they're gone forever

So take your time and read to them

Let them have over another friend

And please...

Listen to me...

It's hard to sleep when you don't have dreams

In this world ruled by kings and queens

'Cause every war is worthless...

It just means we're more Earthless..."

"Some people don't think they're ever enough / But they'll find they measure up / 'Cause once you're gone, there is no after / The world's got enough disasters / Is that how you honor the dead? / How will you get your revenge?"

"I got no brains
And I got no brawn
I'm somehwere betweeen
Being here and gone"

"You look in the mirror
At what you've become
Can you live with yourself
After what you have done?"
