Nothing

Nothing,

There wasn’t any noise other than our breathing.

Silence,

I looked at him to try and will him to say something.

Nothing,

I wanted to tell her I was wrong but I said nothing.

Silence,

For every second of silence I could feel my heart start to freeze up.

Nothing,

She looked down and I couldn’t stop myself from reaching out for her.

Silence,

He reached for me but I moved away.

Nothing,

I couldn’t stand the silence.

Silence,

I was left with nothing.
