Nothing Better

Being alone on an island

Isn't my kind of fun

In fact,

I doubt it for anyone

The days seem endless

Nights seem darker

Wouldn't

A friend make it all a bit easier?

Now think of it like this

A friend for eternity

Versus

Some old and pointless deity

Most hope to get stuck with someone

That is like them

Not me

My preference is toward a gem

Her name happens to be Joanne

Brains and brawn in one

And not even close to being done

Fear isn't in her vocabulary

Nor is anger

Forever

Keeping me out of danger

But my best friend stuck by my side

No matter where it be

Is what

I would take with me.
