Nothing burns like the cold

nothing burns like the cold.

biting scratching howling wind,

nothing burns like the cold.

shaking shuddering trees that bend,

nothing burns like the cold.

numbing fingers frozen stiff,

nothing burns like the cold.

feet sliding like a skiff,

nothing burns like the cold.

watering eyes blown dry,

nothing burns like the cold.

creatures laying down just to die,

nothing burns like the cold.

rosey cheeks start to chap,

nothing burns like the cold.

cold clouds billow off the map,

nothing burns like the cold.

gloomy day,

nothing burns like the cold.

clouds all gray,

nothing burns like the cold.
