nothing goes out

I am a sight for sore eyes
I have held more emotions than Disney’s Pixar film ‘Inside Out’
I have had numerous pens use me as a ballroom
Some nights they enjoy the waltz
Other nights they are as spirited as the salsa

I am used as a dead-bolted chamber
I must keep everything in the dark
Everything comes in but nothing goes out

My favorite nights are when the pens practice ballet
That warm, fuzzy all too familiar feeling
Your palm glides across me from left to right
You pay close attention to painting the image precisely like the world in your mind

The pen whispers secrets to me
I absorb every last ounce of ink
He tells me about the boy who holds your universe
But he also tells me of the other boy who holds your heart

He describes the sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when you realize the boy who holds your universe, also holds every other girls

He describes the fluttering of your heart when the boy who holds your heart, holds only yours

But it doesn’t matter what secrets the pen tells me
What dance he decides to practice at night
Because whatever it may be that he is so carelessly
Or meticulously practicing on me
You must know, that as everything comes in
Nothing goes out.
