Nothing but a Memory

I woke up in the morning and,

It happened,

I thought about him

So smart,

So kind,

So handsome,

Snap out of it said to myself!

Remember what he did

He hurt you

He made you cry

He broke your heart,

Hours pass by and,

It happens again,

I think about him

His eyes

His smile

His body,

Snap out of it I remind myself!

Those eyes looked at you and lied

That smile was a disguise

And his body was just an empty shell,

The day is almost over

It's bed time now

I go to sleep

Then, it happens

I start dreaming about him

Snap out of it I say to subconscious

But then I continue dreaming

Or is it a nightmare

Being reminded day in and out of

the one who hurt me

the one who betrayed me

the one who broke my heart

Not easy at all,

Hope is not gone though

Every day that passes

The memories get more and more faded

He becomes more and more unimportant

My heart starts to heal

My tears stop falling

I learn to trust again

Only to be broken over and over again

All this pain just

to be loved

to be appreciated

to feel wanted

But don't worry I tell myself

Hope is still there

My Prince will come soon

And I won't have to hurt no longer

As I told that to myself

It happened

I thought about him again

But this time was different

It was more of a farewell, than an I'll see you soon

At that moment

He was gone from my thoughts

I still love him and always will,

but from now on he was only

Nothing but a mamory
