Nothing is New

Nothing is new

And change never comes

We oh humanity how we hum

To the same beat

Feat after feat

Featuring

Us in our chief seats

Nothing is new

For the hue of our deeds has sadisticly stained several centures and I don't have to mention these

Just take a class on history

We beat to the same drum whimsically

The CEOs and bums alike

We pedal hard in the bike of our insanity

Doing the same thing over and over oh humanity

Even the purged

Even the washed

Even the holy

Even the sought

Even the purchased

Even the redeemed

Even The ransomed

Even the cleaned

We all like sheep

Through the woods

To bear and wolf

And violent broods

When the smooth grass

The gentle stream

An abandoned reality

And forsaken dream

Were offered us

Still we go

Still we run

Away from God

Away from Son

And He runs

At full speed

Catching me

On wicked steed

He brings me back

He loves deeply

Nothing is new

His love remains

Removing my guilt

And all my stains

Beckoning me to Himself

Fellowship deeply

Never on the shelf

And all my days

Though I’ll stray

He brings me back

That Ancient of Days
