Nothing special
Lost in a crowd
lost in a storm
faces blur past me
all with worlds
all with dreams
living inside
each and everyone
of them
part of a number
of what
makes up
an entire population
just another
number and nothing more
nothing at all
special about me
no talents
hopes and dreams
I'm too scared
to pursue
nothing that
makes me
stand out
above all the rest
thought I had something
thought I was enough
but lies
that slowly
slip through my grasp
wanting to
claim them again
useless thoughts
swirling through
my head
but was it
so bad?
wanting those things?
perhaps it was
at the expense of others
a mistake
that I'll do well
not to repeat again.
