Nothing Was The Same

Nothing Was The Same

We were broken, now mended

Holding hands as we had before

Holding on to something more

Nothing was the same

Here we are now in our room

Dancing around to the same old tune

The same old feelings linger, but

Nothing was the same

Tonight was our second, first night out

You and I eating in peaceful silence

But our love was like a drought

Nothing was the same

We talk until 2 a.m.

These words became useless conversation

But who is to blame

Nothing was the same

I lie in bed that night

My love pouring out of me in a cascade

You however were sound asleep

Nothing was the same

We have been in this place before

Around and back again

Your car now distant and you drifting further

Because nothing was the same
