NOTHING IS WORKING

When I try to breathe in the calm, my eyes see your face

I try to listen to the silence of our malice

But my nose takes in your essence

I want to speak but your eyes raise a wall

A wall I’m familiar with though

The same wall I tried to climb but fell in love with you

I want to hold you but something is different

for where there was skin of chocolate wonder

I see thorns; thorns against just me

For as u were a lily in my eyes

Now you seem a rose; your beauty magnified by the distance between us.

As minutes seem hours and hours seem like days

The distance I can bear no more.

My love let’s call a truce

This battle field our house has lost all it’s air

Me, a sniper in this battle have missed all my shots

For I’ve always been blind in love.
